Dominik Mysterio Thinks Eddie Guerrero Would Have Ultimately Sided With Him Against Rey Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio thinks that Eddie Guerrero would have sided with him in his feud with Rey Mysterio.

For several months, Dominik feuded with his father, Rey Mysterio, and tried to goad him into a match. Dominik and his Judgment Day stablemates (Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor, and Damian Priest) tormented Rey at every turn. Rey's son went so far as to say that he wished Eddie Guerrero was his real father. In doing so, he referenced the classic storyline where Rey and Eddie battled over the paternity of Dominik.

Eddie Guerrero tragically passed away in 2005, but given his times to Rey and Dominik, some fans ave wondered how he could have potentially been a part of the storyline.

Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Dominik shared his thoughts on how Guerrero might have factored into his rivalry with Rey.

"I think in a perfect world, if Eddie was still here, he would have been on my dad’s side, a special guest referee [at WrestelMania]. And at the end of the day, he would have picked my side. I think he would’ve been with my dad all along, telling him that he’s going to handle business, “he’s just going through a phase”, and at the end of the day he comes with me," Dominik said.

Dominik also reflected on Rey's special entrance at WrestleMania 39, where he came out in a low rider and used Eddie's theme song in a tribute to the late legend. The young Mysterio noted that it was a surreal moment, as hearing the song hit a special nerve in him.

"Eddie’s music hits, and of course that hits a special nerve in me. 'My God, this dude, he’s really trying to pull the strings here.' Then that classic Rey Mysterio music – it was all just a very surreal moment," he said.

At WWE Money in the Bank, Dominik faced Cody Rhodes in a high-profile match, but he didn't walk away with the win. More information is available here.

On the July 3 episode of WWE Raw, Rhea Ripley will defend the WWE Women's World Championship against Natalya, and it's fair to assume that Dominik will be at ringside to support his Mami. Fightful will have live coverage of the show as it airs.
