"Dr. Hannibal" Steve Gillespie Passes Away At The Age Of 56

Steve Gillespie, who wrestled as Dr. Hannibal in FMW, has passed away at the age of 56.

Gillespie was found dead in his car on Saturday, Jan. 18 according to PWInsider. No other details were provided.

Gillespie worked as an enhancement talent in WWE in 1992, putting over Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Kamala, and Papa Shango. He is best known for his time in Japan as Dr. Hannibal. He wrestled in FMW in the 90s, teaming with Dr. Luther (Luther in AEW) to battle Sabu and & The Shiek. He was a two-time CRMW Mid-Heavyweight Champion and three-time CRMW Tag Team Champion.

He got his start in the late 1980s working for Stampede Wrestling. He last wrestled in 2013 for Real Canadian Wrestling.
