Dustin Rhodes: I Would Like To Win The AEW TNT Title, But It’s About Having Fun

Dustin Rhodes would like to win championship gold but is more focused on having fun.

The 54 year old has had success in the past in WWE when it comes to championship gold, but as of yet, championships in AEW have eluded the man formerly known as Goldust.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo in a recent interview, Rhodes would discuss possibly winning championship gold, noting that he would like to win the TNT Championship, but wants to have fun more.

"If you look at my career, 35 years is such a long time. I have wrestled everybody. At this point, I just want to have fun. I would like to win the TNT Title, but you have to realize I’m almost 55 years old. Still, I want it, maybe a weeks worth run with it. It just depends on what the boss wants to do. I love what I’m doing and at this point, it’s about having fun and passing on my knowledge and the kids taking something that I teach them and then pulling it off and getting a reaction, that’s the payoff. That’s what the second part of my legacy is about."

On the January 17th episode of AEW Dynamite, Dustin Rhodes would face off with Christian Cage in a bout for the AEW TNT Championship. While he would not win the matchup, Rhodes impressed many with his gutsy performance.

Elsewhere in the same interview, Rhodes noted that he hopes to see his brother Cody finish the story in WWE. You can read more here.
