Eddie Kingston admits he was nervous before wrestling Shingo Takagi in his first G1 Climax match and wants to do it again in Chicago or London under the AEW umbrella.
On July 16, Eddie Kingston defeated Shingo Takagi in his first G1 Climax tournament match in his career. During Takagi's post-match promo, he admitted to being disappointed in himself but also said that he wanted a rematch and did not care whether it was in NJPW, AEW, or even ROH.
On the other hand, Eddie Kingston also echoed a desire for a rematch but would like to see the match take place on either AEW All In in London, England or one week later in Chicago at AEW All Out 2023.
"The dream lives on, folks," said Eddie. "I'm not going to lie when I saw I was paired up against Shingo, former IWGP World Champion, I was so nervous. I tried to play it off like I was cool. I was so nervous. He's so good. I'm not going to lie and sit here and say, 'Yeah, I beat his ass.' I didn't. I'm a little disappointed in my performance. The hernia surgery I had eight weeks before the tour of Japan started acting up after he gave me a knee to the gut. It's a lot of pain. No excuses, though. I won. I got lucky. I'm going to have to do better against EVIL.
"Shingo, I'm not going to talk a lot of trash," Kingston continued. "This is a sport, and I'm going to treat it like a sport. Thank you for the fight, and I hope we do it again. Tony Khan, I'm going to put you on the spot. Me and Shingo, All In, All Out, give us time. Me and Shingo will show the world Strong Style and King's Road combined."
Thus far, no matches are set for either AEW All In or AEW All Out. Eddie Kingston is also the current NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion.
