Edge On Triple H Taking Over WWE Creative: It's A 'Really Fun Time' To Be Involved With WWE

Edge is excited about the Triple H era of WWE.

Paul Levesque, also known as Triple H, took over as the head of WWE creative on July 25 in the aftermath of Vince McMahon's retirement. Since then, fans have seen plenty of change to the product, both in the way it has been presented and with the returns of stars like Karrion Kross and Dakota Kai, among others.

One of these stylistic shifts has been the approach to Edge's upcoming match with Damian Priest. The latter challenged the veteran to a bout on the August 22 episode of WWE Raw two weeks ahead of time, and the contest has been built up on WWE TV ever since.

In an interview with Bleacher Report, Edge described the process of pitching the match to Triple H and noted that it seemed like a fitting opportunity to promote a match multiple weeks in advance, like the company did years ago.

"I sat down with Paul [Leveseque] and I saw that Toronto was coming. We have this storyline with The Judgment Day. It felt like the perfect opportunity to do what we kind of used to do, which was promote a Raw match almost a month in advance. I thought it seemed like the perfect opportunity and a special moment, too," he said.

After Edge emphasized his excitement for the match, he commented on the new regime by describing it seems like everyone is excited, so it's a "fun time" to be working with the company.

"I've had a lot of creative input and that's having 25 years of equity with the company. In that regard, it doesn't change a lot, but what's so fun to see is that it's going dressing room-wide now and that's really cool. I think everyone feels super excited and stoked and just ready to see how certain things go. You can already see that's happening. I think Paul looks at things like a fan because he still is a fan of this, just like I am. It's bringing back Karrion Kross and Dakota [Kai]. It's a really fun time to be involved with the company," Edge said.

Karrion Kross and Scarlett recently discussed their return to WWE and their respect for Triple H. You can check out their comments here.
