Lucha Libre AAA announced that El Hijo del Vikingo will challenge Alberto El Patron for the AAA Mega Championship at AAA Rey de Reyes on March 22nd.

El Hijo del Vikingo previously held the AAA Mega Championship for over 800 days until he was forced to vacate the title due to injury in March 2024. Alberto El Patron won the title by defeating Nic Nemeth at AAA Triplemania XXXII: Mexico City.
