Winner crowned for the 2025 Torneo de Escuelas.
On February 28, 2025, CMLL hosted a new edition of "Viernes Espectacular" live from the mythical Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. The show featured the finals of the 2025 Torneo de Escuelas, a tournament used to show CMLL's best up-and-coming exports from their academies across Mexico.
This year's finals featured Team CDMX (Fury Boy, Poseidon, Alexius, Pendulo & Troyano), Team Puebla (Blue Shark, Tiger Boy, Astro, Dreyko & El Vigía) & Team Queretaro (Vengador, Kastigador Jr., Atomico Jr., Galactico Dragon & Samuray Azteca) going at it for the glory.
After a chaotic brawl between the three teams, it would end up being Team Ciudad de Mexico who ended up picking up the win, thanks to Pendulo hitting an Avalanche Styles Clash on Kastigador Jr. to pick up the win for his team. Escuela Ciudad de Mexico also won the tournament in 2024, defeating Escuela Puebla in the finals.
In the same show, Konosuke Takehsita defended the NEVER Openweight Title against Ángel de Oro in the main event of the show.
