Angelina Love Wasn't Offended By Billy Corgan's NWA EmPowerrr Comments, Says He Loves Women's Wrestling

The National Wrestling Alliance made history in 2021 with NWA EmPowerrr, an all-women's show put together by Mickie James and featuring women from multiple promotions.

Many fans expected NWA EmPowerrr 2 in 2022, but the event never happened and Billy Corgan made plenty of headlines for his reason. Among Corgan's reasons, he stated there was no second NWA EmPowerr event due to there not being enough free agent talent available who could work at a television level, and he wondered if there was enough talent available who could wrestle NWA style, live up to the standard of the first NWA EmPowerrr, and sell a pay-per-view.

Angelina Love was not part of NWA EmPowerrr, but she has nearly two decades of television experience and is now part of the National Wrestling Alliance.

Speaking to Jeremy Lambert & Stephen Jensen on The Spotlight, Love commented on Corgan's comments regarding NWA EmPowerrr 2.

"I don't think Billy is wrong in anything that he says. That man has been in the entertainment business for 35 years, the most difficult entertainment business, the music industry. I think he's a creative genius and he loves wrestling. He loves women's wrestling and is very supportive. He makes sure we're all over the shows. He's always been supportive of me and my career, I've known him for over 10 years. When things are put online, maybe the headlines are a little clickbaity, it's possible things can be taken a certain way, but I don't think he's incorrect in saying that at all. It is a big deal to carry a pay-per-view like that and be TV ready. Some people are and some people aren't, that's not insulting, that's kind of how it is for everybody. He's a very open and honest person, I wasn't offended by it at all. There is a lot of stuff coming for the women on the NWA shows next year. I'm sure that'll happen, but I know if I was running a show, I would want to have the best people possible, and if you just don't have enough of the best people possible, then maybe you have to postpone it, put it off, get something figured out. I think that's fine," she said.

Corgan has said that there will be another NWA EmPowerrr, but no date has been made official.

Love has been regularly featured on NWA programming throughout 2022 and most recently wrestled on the November 5 episode of NWA USA.
