Game Changer Wrestling if officially part of a subscription service.
GCW Owner Brett Lauderdale announced that GCW will be part of the FITE+ subscription package with all upcoming shows streaming live and all past shows being part of the FITE+ library.
Fans can join FITE+ for $4.99 a month.
"Effective today, November 1, all GCW shows moving forward will be streaming live on FITE+ and all of our library, our back catalog, will be available starting today on FITE+. FITE+ is available for just $4.99 per month. That is not a typo, I did not misspeak, you can literally start watching all GCW shows for $4.99 per month. I'm very excited to make that available because a lot of people have been asking for this for some time, a subscription model for GCW, and it's finally here," Lauderdale told Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.
GCW shows were previously available on FITE as single or bundle purchases with single event purchases costing upwards of $14.99 per event.
"We've been part of FITE for a few years and they've been a big part of GCW's success and growth. This is something we've talked about behind the scenes, in-house with our team and with FITE. We explored all options, and FITE is going to invest in this platform and service. They're willing to make that investment and commitment to GCW, enough to where we're ready to commit with them to FITE+. It's a model and strategy we believe in going forward, enough that we're willing to leave our current and successful model to join it. I've talked about this with the other companies that are joining and everything that is possible for them and what FITE has done with us and what I think it can be for them as well as the landscape continues to change, as it does with wrestling every day. I believe in FITE and I'm happy to see that others are going to be part of it and join the team," he said.
Absolute Intense Wrestling, House of Glory, Black Label Pro, and more promotions are also part of the FITE+ service. FITE also offers boxing and bare-knuckle fighting events on its service.
"A lot of us are in this Indie wrestling bubble, we live in it every day and we have to remember there is a world outside, a world for FITE even, outside our Indie wrestling bubble. FITE is a large company. They broadcast events outside of Indie wrestling and some of the events that they stream and broadcast are mega-events. They have a lot of resources and a customer base that is bigger than any Indie wrestling company has or has ever had. They have a base to draw upon, which is already invested, that many don't know what Indie wrestling is and will now learn and have access and can learn about GCW, Black Label, and AIW. They already have a base of subscribers that now have access to all these shows and this new content. It's exciting. One of the biggest challenges for Indie wrestling has been to create and reach new fans. Today, all of us currently on FITE+, we're being handed access to a whole new world of fans that are going to learn about it for the first time. It's really exciting and I'm excited for new people to learn, not just what GCW is currently but to explore our history. I'm excited for fans who have joined us in the last six months, a year, two years, to now have access to shows that were never previously available. There is a lot of exciting possibilities here. Not just with the subscribers they currently have, but the amount they're going to have as they grow this service and dive headfirst into it, which is where I think this is going for FITE," said Lauderdale.
The first live GCW show on FITE will be the Nick Gage Invitational 7 on November 12.
Fightful will continue to update fans on promotions joining FITE+ when they are known.
