Brutus Creed recalls coming up with the Brutus Ball move.
The Brutus Ball maneuver is one of the most popular moves in all of wrestling, with many fans saying that the move is one of the best current moves in the sport. Clips of the move will often go viral on social media when Creed performs it during matches on Raw.
While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Creed recalled coming up with the move and pitching it during a training session at the Performance Center.
"I’m at the Performance Center, we’re practicing dives, and I’m like, ‘What if this is it?’ I dove and I was joking. We get to a match, and I actually hit that dive in a match, and I believe the first people it was hit on was Marcel [Ludwig Kaiser], Wes Lee, and I think Nash Carter. That’s where it was born and from there, it was a joking dive that I actually ended up doing in a match and from there it progressed to ‘can we use it as a finisher? It looks devastating.’ We continued to do it from there."
Fightful then asked Creed if anybody is nervous about taking the move.
"I’d say almost 90% [laughs]. No one has gotten hurt. They say it felt fine. It just looks scary. I’m sure if you have 280 pounds coming off the top, it’s going to look scary."
Elsewhere in the interview, Creed talked about potentially fighting in the UFC. Fans can learn more here.
