Donovan Dijak On Working Main Event: Personally, I Was Happy. Professionally, I Was In A Dark Place

Donovan Dijak had a lot of feelings about working on Main Event.

From October 2021 to September 2022, Dijak, who was using the T-BAR name at the time, was almost exclusively competing on Main Event. In November 2022, Dijak dropped the T-BAR name and returned to the NXT brand.

While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Dijak talked about the positives and negatives surrounding his stint on Main Event.

"It was a dichotomy of feelings. On a personal level, my kids are young and I got to spend a lot of time with them because I’m not on house shows or pay-per-views. A third of the Raws I don’t get flown out to because they can’t have me on Main Event every week. Two or three, then off. I’m working five days a month, so I’m spending a lot of time at home with my kids. I’m super happy about that on a personal level. My daughter is a baby at the time, my son is only four. Professionally, I’m in a dark place because I’m desperately trying everything. I’m pitching to writers. I’m pitching to Bruce and Vince. I’m trying everything in the world. I’m doing binders, videos, and you just get stuck in this rut at WWE where it’s like, ‘We’ll get to him later.’ It starts to eat at you. This is at a time where releases are happening frequently. Every six months there is a conference call. Two days later here [the releases] come."
