Ethan Page reflects on working with Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy.
Throughout Ethan Page's time in AEW he has been fortunate enough to work with such names as Darby Allin, Sting, Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy, and Kenny Omega.
Page's match with Omega took place on the December 9 episode of AEW Collision and would see him take his best swing on the former AEW World Champion.
Reflecting on the match in a new interview with Sean Ross Sapp, Page says that he's glad to have had the experience and that any chance he gets to Showcase his skills, he attempts to bring his very best but even more so when he's working with a guy like Kenny Omega.
"It was amazing. It’s crazy because on the last media tour I did for the shows in Canada, a lot of people asked similar questions. ‘Who from the roster that is Canadian would you like to have a match with?’ Kenny was my answer every time. Now, we’re coming back, I’m doing the media tour, and everyone is asking, ‘What are you doing on the shows?’ I’m wrestling Kenny. It was a great opportunity. Any chance I get to showcase my skills in AEW, I’m going to do my best. I’ve been working extra hard to be ring-ready and be the best version of myself. To get that opportunity against arguably one of the best going today, to show that I can hang and that I’m at that level, it’s a good night for me. I’m happy it happened," he said.
Regarding his major program with Matt Hardy that encompassed the early portion of 2023, Page praised the benefit of working with someone who has the experience level and wide variety of expertise as the former ECW Champion.
"It was great. To work with someone of that status and stature, with that wealth of knowledge. It was amazing to work with someone and be able to ask, ‘Hey, when you were in this situation blah blah blah.’ To have someone that has the information and is willing to share it. Not only share the info, but share the screen, there was never a point where it was take and take, it was very much give and take. I think that’s why people enjoyed the storytelling. It was a group focus to go in one direction. There was never any clashing, if that makes sense," Page says.
Elsewhere in the interview, Page previewed his upcoming I Quit Match against Tony Nese at ROH Final Battle 2023. Read more here.
