All Elite Wrestling -- and their contract structure and roster -- have been the talk of the pro wrestling industry over the last two weeks.
In 2019, there WWE (with five brands), Impact, AEW, ROH, NJPW, MLW and even more offering contracts to wrestlers in one of the most competitive times in wrestling history. As first reported on Fightful Select this weekend, we were able to answer some of the questions about a couple of stars that headed to AEW.
For those wondering about the contract status about MJF since he appeared on the All Elite Wrestling rally, he's actually under a two-year contract with Major League Wrestling. MLW isn't expecting any issues to arise from the fact that he's also working for All Elite Wrestling, and we're told that MLW has an open line of communication with AEW with things going smooth.
As for Joey Janela, he was always on a per-show basis and is said to still be on really good terms with MLW. Janela appeared for MLW several times throughout 2018 prior to his knee injury.
Every AEW contract seems like it's different from the outside looking in, but some talent have been told to finish up their independent dates ahead of Double or Nothing. Others have a great degree of wiggle room, for example Joey Janela continuing his Spring Break shows, Chris Jericho promoting his cruises, Britt Baker continuing her dental career and others.
Fightful will continue to provide exclusive coverage of AEW as the promotion takes shape.
