The grind never stops for Josh Mathews.
IMPACT Wrestling voice Josh Mathews recently spoke to Fightful's Denise Salcedo, and touted IMPACT's great success for this year's Bound for Glory. He revealed to us that not only is the show sold out, but it's actually over capacity and on pace to be the company's most successful show in years.
"We can just kind of not worry about Bound for Glory. We're over-capacity. We're in a great spot. So it's thrilling," Josh began. "And it'll-- Bound For Glory will end up being our highest-grossing pay-per-view that I've ever been a part of. And it'll be the most attended pay-per-view. So, it's certainly exciting. It's a testament to the hard work from everybody on the IMPACT and Anthem team."
That kind of branding and endorsement says a lot, as Mathews has seen IMPACT change names and networks, from Spike TV to Destination America to Pop TV to Pursuit to Twitch. Now, he's a major part of their transition over to AXS TV on October 22.
Josh spoke about the excitement of the move to AXS, saying that Scott D'Amore called the last two years of rebuilding IMPACT 'practice for this move.'
"Obviously, it got us to where we are today, but it's just, you know, I use the hashtag 'keep grinding' a lot. And I just think it's one of those deals where we just keep grinding and we keep working." Said the former Tough Enough competitor. "And we are, you know, before everyone got here today, I was sitting in the office here at AXS, just plugging away and get everything, everything. And when you guys all leave and the lights are off, we'll get back to work. So it's just one of those deals where we have to keep going. We have to keep everything kind of in this forward momentum. And, you know, hopefully, people are noticing."
Bound For Glory takes place next Sunday, October 22, 2019. Fightful will have total live coverage of the pay-per-view as it goes down
