Randy Orton continues to cause waves on social media, but according to multiple sources, he's been trying backstage as well.
Fightful reported earlier this year that Orton was pretty open backstage about his willingness to discuss making a move to All Elite Wrestling if the situation presents itself. Coupled with an social media post from last week that saw him tease the rumors, his contract status has been the talk of the wrestling world. As noted, Orton's deal is up in Summer 2020.
Throughout this summer, we saw Randy Orton work with The Revival during Orton's quest to become WWE Champion. We're told by multiple sources that Orton pushed to do more work with them, even going as far as pitching a faction to Vince McMahon personally. The idea fell on deaf ears and Orton and the Revival were put on different brands in the WWE draft.
The three ruffled more feathers on social media, as well.
What WILL be. Eventually. https://t.co/Mz5vgccB2k

The Revival have been involved in a contract dispute of their own. The two asked for their release earlier this year, and have subsequently had three tag team championship reigns. WWE offered them deals that landed over $500,000 individually, which were both rejected. As of now, their deals are up roughly in the spring of 2020 as well, and they've not signed new deals despite the stop and start pushes.
