James Storm isn't short on historic moments in TNA history, and one that he was in the ring for has grown in legend.
At TNA Turning Point 2004, a moment that would live in TNA lore unfolded. Storm, and AMW partner Chris Harris took on the Triple X combo of Elix Skipper and Christopher Daniels. At one point, Harris ended up seated atop the cage, while Skipper tightrope-walked the cage, sending "The Wildcat" down with a frankensteiner. All the way across the cage, Storm looked on.
"We all thought Elix was insane. They could not get the cage up fast enough for Elix to practice walking on top of it. When he walked across it, that was the first time he did it. I'm laying there in the corner and I (realize) I'm not far enough away from Chris, so when he lands, he's going to kick me in the face. I just scooted under the ropes and just sat there like 'please god, don't let anyone die here. We're just trying to get out of this ring.' I was literally praying in the ring. Once the spot hit and everyone was okay, you just kind of knew that this could be talked about for a long time," said Storm to Fightful.
After AMW parted ways, Storm found great success alongside Robert Roode in Beer Money Inc. Another favorite visual in that era of TNA Wrestling was the famed 'Boozer Cruiser,' a scooter that had a cooler hooked to it. Storm recounted discovering and pitching the idea to management.
"It was actually my idea," Storm said. "I saw a commercial for it and wondered if I could get one of those. And not just convince TNA to let me drink beer, but not even walk to the ring anymore, just ride the Boozer Cruiser to the ring. Finally, I talked them into it. At first they were like 'eh, I dunno!' It caught on. There was one time I had a keg hooked to it and dragged Bobby (Roode) to the ring."
Storm is in action weekly on NWA Powerrr.
