The Miz Commended For Toughing Out Knee Injury At WWE Backlash

The Miz is on the shelf for the first time, and his colleagues put him over for making the most of a bad situation.

The Miz sustained a knee injury at WWE WrestleMania Backlash in a match with Damian Priest. The match featured a zombie crossover of Batista's Army of the Dead match which proved to be lucrative to WWE. Fightful Select asked around backstage about wrestler reactions to how everything went down.

Dave Meltzer reported that The Miz sustained an ACL injury at WrestleMania Backlash. When we spoke with talent and staff Tuesday morning, they said that watching the monitors during the match, they could tell something was wrong, but didn't think it was as severe as a torn ACL and credited him for getting through the match. As seen on the show, there was a specific finish they were getting to, and Miz was applauded, figuratively, for making sure he got there despite serious injury. This is the first major injury of Miz's career

So far, we've had no solid update on Miz's injury status, but he was doing media within a couple of days.
