Titus Alexander Discusses Working Against The Singh Brothers On WWE 205 Live In 2019

Titus Alexander has become one of the top names on the west coast independent wrestling scene, sharing the ring with the likes of Will Ospreay, Alex Shelley, and Christopher Daniels.

Before he won the 2022 West Coast Cup, Alexander was featured on WWE television where he took on The Singh Brothers (Samir Singh & Sunil Singh, now known as the Bollywood Boyz), on the June 11, 2019 episodes of 205 Live.

Speaking to Jeremy Lambert and Stephen Jensen on The Spotlight, Alexander recalled his work as a WWE enhancement talent.

"A couple of people who work for WWE are students of my dad [JD Bishop]. He's one of the head referees there and was like, 'We're going to be in Sacramento, do your kids want to do background work?' We filled out the stuff and went. It was a very cool experience. You're sitting in catering with all these guys you watched growing up and you're marking out for them. It was cool to see Dolph Ziggler and Finn Balor just eating rice and chicken. It was very cool. Just having people there that knew my dad from the local area. Guys like Timothy Thatcher, who is trained by my dad, John Morrison, the ref that gave us the hook-up. Just people we knew in WWE," he said when asked how the opportunity came together.

Though Alexander was backstage and doing background work, he didn't know he would be in the ring until the last minute.

"It was awesome. It was kind of random," he said. "The number one rule is 'always bring your gear.' At the time, I was doing a lucha character named El Mestizo, which means half-breed, and they were feuding with Kalisto and Sin Cara. They were like, 'We need local luchas, who has a mask?' Another guy raised his hand, I raised my hand. 'Okay, you guys get your masks.' They brought these weird...they weren't even masks, they were things that go over your eyes. I went and got my mask. Working with the Singhs, it was very cool, doing the backstage and everything. I don't think they'd remember me now. I saw them a couple of times at DEFY and stuff. It was cool. My dad was there with a couple of his friends, and I didn't tell him that I was going to do it because it was so last minute. We walked out and of course, they don't give us an entrance, we're just walking during the commercial break, and he sees me and takes a picture. I get back to my phone, and he calls me and is like, 'You motherfucker.' I was like, 'Want to pop you dad come on. It's a big moment. I didn't want to spoil it, I wanted you to stay and watch it.' He goes, 'That's fucking so cool.'"

Alexander most recently wrestled at West Coast Pro/Prestige Wrestling Savage Mode II where he battled Davey Richards. Fans can find results from the show by clicking here.
