It probably doesn't come as a surprise based on the social media reaction, but several within All Elite Wrestling are happy that Colt Cabana is back.
The dozen or so talent that Fightful heard back from regarding the November 2 AEW Dynamite were in support of Colt Cabana being back in the fold. There was natural inquisition as to it possibly reinforcing the longstanding rumor that Cabana was removed from television because of CM Punk, whether that was directly requested by Punk or not, which Punk vehemently denied.
Before Cabana's absence, we're told that he'd seemed incredibly happy and had been helping produce matches for months before he left.
Wrestlevotes tweeted on November 3, "Colt Cabana showing up on Dynamite last night didn’t go unnoticed in Stamford. That’s all I’ll say on that right now…" Those that we spoke to were saying that seemed like a huge signal to WWE that if CM Punk wasn't finished with AEW before, he would be now. One source within WWE that was familiar with both Punk and Cabana said they'd be shocked if the two could ever work together again. A WWE source said they haven't heard anything even resembling an update on on the relationship between Punk and WWE, and that they wouldn't feel comfortable officially reaching out to him considering the situation.
Fightful asked AEW if Cabana is back on a permanent basis and if he'll return, and we haven't heard back as of yet.
