WWE Releases Tegan Nox

An unfortunate run with WWE for Tegan Nox has reached a close for now.

WWE released numerous talent on Thursday, November 18. Among them was Tegan Nox, who had been moved to the WWE Raw brand and never actually debuted with the company. Prior to that, she'd teamed with Shotzi Blackheart on Smackdown and actually defeated the Women's Tag Team Champions at the time three different times. The duo never got their title shot.

Nox had a rough go of it in WWE. She signed with the company in April 2017 and tore her ACL right before the Mae Young Classic. After being sidelined for nearly a year, she returned in April 2018, and tore her ACL, MCL, LCL and meniscus, in addition to dislocating her patella in the 2018 Mae Young Classic. Nox sustained yet another torn ACL on September 2020, and returned the following July. Within a matter of weeks, she debuted on Smackdown the aforementioned successful tag team with Shotzi Blackheart. The duo were split in the 2021 WWE draft.

In an internal e-mail, WWE head of talent relations John Laurinaitis cited budget cuts as the reason.
