Yuka Sakazaki is hoping to see a former AEW Women's World Champion step into a Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling ring in the future with a match in her sights.
AEW and TJPW have a working relationship that has seen Sakazaki, Maki Itoh, Shoko Nakajima, and Miyu Yamashita all appear on AEW television in the past while AEW stars AEW Women's World Champion Thunder Rosa, Hikaru Shida, and Riho have all competed in TJPW over the last year. It has led to many entertaining moments and even saw Yamashita earn an AEW Women's World Championship match on AEW Fight for the Fallen after defeating Rosa at Summer Sun Princess.
Yuka Sakazaki, in an interview with Fightful's Scott Edwards to hype up Wrestle Princess III in October, revealed that she'd like to see Nyla Rose join the list of AEW wrestlers to appear in TJPW sometime in the future and would like to face her.
Sakazaki explained, as translated by Ash Mann, that while big, stronger wrestlers have come to TJPW from Pro Wrestling EVE and also Max The Impaler, Rose is the number one person she wants to see head to TJPW for some matches. Sakazaki continued on by saying how Rose loves Japanese culture, she has all the merchandise like Pikachu, and she's sure that we'd see a very different Nyla Rose in TJPW as compared to an AEW ring.
Sakazaki and Rose have opposed one another previously in AEW, including the inaugural Fyter Fest event where they competed in a triple threat match that also featured Riho. They've never had a singles match, however.
For those who may not know, Nyla Rose spent time in Japan as part of Chigusa Nagayo's Marvelous promotion. Her time with the promotion ranged from 2016 to 2019, so there's definitely a familiarity for Rose with Japan that could see her succeed in TJPW as Sakazaki stated.
Sakazaki also touched on why her style has changed to a more physical style in 2022, who she believes is ready to make the next step in TJPW, what she likes to do when visiting America, her experience in PWG, and so much more in the exclusive interview which you can check out here.
