Zoey Stark Says Suffering A Knee Injury Made Her Hesitant Of Taking Dragon Screws

Zoey Stark talks about recovering from injury, changes to her move set, and her trepidation regarding a classic wrestling move.

Zoey Stark suffered a torn ACL/Meniscus at the end of 2021 after competing in a Scareway To Hell Ladder Match at NXT Halloween Havoc. She would return to NXT on July 19, 2022, and be called up to the main roster in 2023.

Matt Hardy Says If He And Jeff Hardy Went To WCW, They Wouldn't Have Went As Far As They Did In WWE

In an interview recorded before WWE SummerSlam 2023, Sean Ross Sapp asked Zoey how she felt concerning her knee and if any major changes to her move set after her injury were necessary.

"I feel great. I can go all day. I feel amazing," she said. "The one thing I kind of hesitate on is a Dragon Screw. There's something about that. It's safe, but in my head, it just looks wicked. I'm like, 'I don't need another knee injury.'"

Stark also says that different people fear different bumps and that she has personally always been afraid of a back body drop, believing that she never takes the bump right.

"People just have different fears, you know? I'm personally terrified of a Back Body Drop. There's something about it. I always over-rotate, number one. I always land on my ass. I can never actually take a normal bump on it for whatever reason. Something about it, it's a weird movement, and it has to be timed out perfectly for it to work."

During her time on the Shelf with injury, Stark got to experience working as a producer. Learn more about that here.

Elsewhere in this interview, Stark spoke about her feelings toward WWE's NIL recruits. Read more here
