Finn Balor says his match against AJ Styles helped shape his year.
Last year at the TLC pay-per-view, Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt were scheduled for a match which was billed as "Sister Abigail versus The Demon" as the two wrestlers were going to perform as alternative identities. Because of an illness, Wyatt had to be pulled from the event. In an interview with WhatCulture, Balor said he has no clue what would have happened during the match.
"I don’t know. It’ll always be that great unknown question. I think that it could have really went either way. What were we going to see with Sister Abigail, I don’t even know what we were going to see but I think it worked out well for me in the end. Obviously, Bray was struck down with illness, was it fate or not I don’t know...maybe it was Sister Abigail that stuck him down. But obviously Bray had to step out, AJ stepped in and I believe that was definitely a turning point in the year for me and helped me get a little bit of steam to where I am now. So, thank God we didn't see that Sister Abigail," said Balor.
After Wyatt returned to action, he got into a feud with Matt Hardy and eventually was deleted in the Lake of Reincarnation. Since then, he has left Sister Abigail behind and now is a Raw Tag Team Champion with Hardy.
