Teasing a potential alliance with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa against the Undisputed Era, Finn Balor turned on the former NXT Champions.
Towards the end of NXT, Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish joined fellow Undisputed Era member Roderick Strong in celebrating Strong's most recent NXT North American title defense. Undisputed Era proceeded to beat up Keith Lee until Ciampa, then Gargano entered the ring to make the save. They were soon joined by Balor, but as the two sides faced off, Balor attacked Gargano, leaving Ciampa at the mercy of the Undisputed Era.

The shocking move came after Balor recently made his return to NXT after spending multiple years wrestling on both Raw and SmackDown. Balor holds the record for the longest reign as NXT Champion in history.
Plenty of WWE and NXT stars shared their reactions on social media, including Balor himself.
