After Kenny Omega addressed the Osaka fans at NJPW Power Struggle, he and Gabe Kidd got into a backstage altercation.
Kidd was upset that Kenny got his name wrong in interviews, and took it up with Kenny personally. The two had to be separated by officials after some shoving and punches being thrown.
Footage of altercation was sent to Fightful and can be viewed below.

NJPW representative Rocky Romero was asked about the incident by Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp
"That kind of stuff is not a thing that happens in New Japan a lot or very often at all. A little disappointed in the way that it went down, especially with Gabe. I understand Gabe and him always wanting to interject himself into things when it doesn't have anything to do with him. There are good and bad that goes along with that. Guys trying to get their name out there at the expense of a big name like Kenny Omega. There is a better way to go about that. I think Gabe is a unique talent. The way that he sells wrestling like Conor McGregor, he's very special in his approach and look to wrestling. I applaud that and I think he's going to be a major star in time. I can't comment too much about it. I know there is some stuff going on with our President, Mr. Tanahashi, and I think Gabe is going to pay a pretty heavy fine for everything. We'll see what happens," he said.
The full interview airs tomorrow.
NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi fined and warned Kidd for his role in the altercation. He also apologized to Kenny and AEW for Kidd's actions.
During his speech at NJPW Power Struggle, Kenny expressed his desire to compete on January 5 at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
