The wrestling world will come together to support Chris Bey on March 23rd at FSW's Benefit for Bey event.
Talent from WWE, AEW, TNA, NJPW, ROH, and more promotions will be present and competing on the event.
FSW promoter Joe DeFalco joined Jeremy Lambert and & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds and revealed a few names from WWE who were hoping to work the event, but couldn't due to WWE's European tour.
"Rey Mysterio was going to work the show, which was crazy to me. He wanted to work. He was trying to tag team with TJ Wilson, who hasn't wrestled in forever, and Kevin [Karrion Kross] reached out and TJ was like, 'Don't worry about it. I won't do any high flying stuff. I would just do mat stuff.' He was talking about teaming with Rey Mysterio to wrestle Dominik [Mysterio] and Kross in the main event. That became, 'Hold on, we have the European tour.' That kind of put the kibosh on that. Bey was talking to CM Punk yesterday and Punk was like, 'If we weren't on this tour, I would have worked the show.' If somebody would have told us, I would have moved it a week later," he said.
Kross is set to faced Alex Hammerstone at the event.
TJ Wilson (Tyson Kidd) has spoken highly of Bey and how he's an inspiration. Punk has given a shoutout to Bey in WWE promos.
Bey underwent surgery after he suffered a neck injury while competing at a TNA iMPACT! taping in October. On February 13th, he posted a video of himself walking and gave an update on his recovery.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help the TNA star as he recovers. Fans can donate to the GoFundMe by clicking here.
Fightful continues to wish Bey the best as he continues to recover.
