Bring on the rubber match.
The rivalry between FTR and The Young Bucks dates back to Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood’s time in WWE when they were known as The Revival. Since joining AEW, though, the two teams have faced off only once, with The Bucks winning the AEW Tag Titles from FTR at Full Gear 2020.
On April 1 at ROH Supercard of Honor, FTR defeated The Briscoes to capture the ROH Tag Team Titles, making them double-champs as they also hold the AAA Tag belts. After that bout, Matt and Nick Jackson made a surprise appearance, accepting the challenge made to them by FTR earlier that week. The caveat, however, is that both the ROH and AAA Titles would be on the line.
Both teams controlled the match for stretches, but it was The Young Bucks that dominated the latter portions. They thought they had the match won after hitting a BTE Trigger, but Cash Wheeler got his foot on the rope. After that, Dax and Cash would capitalize on the second chance, hitting a BTE Trigger of their own followed by the Big Rig for the pin and win.
