Gabe Kidd is set to compete at NJPW Battle in the Valley.
At NJPW Strong Style Evolved on December 15, Gabe Kidd defended the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship against Ryohei Oiwa. Oiwa nearly scored the win on a few occasions. Clark Connors ran in and attacked Oiwa with a chair when the referee was down, but Kosei Fujita made the save. Kidd ultimately put Oiwa down with a Doctor Bomb.
Kidd cut a post-match promo and sent a message to Kenny Omega, his opponent at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5. Kidd said that he would retire Omega, and he also took a shot at AEW's roster before he shifted gears and challenged Tomohiro Ishii to a title match at NJPW Battle in the Valley on January 11.
