Great-O-Khan won the NJPW King of Pro Wrestling Championship at NJPW New Beginning in Nagoya, defeating Taiji Ishimori in an Ishimori Fit Match.

Per the rules of the match, the person who was in possession of the title after ten monutes would be the winner. The two men would complete fitness challenges every three minutes.

O-Khan won after hitting the Eliminator and then falling over, onto the title, as time expired. It was declared he had possession of the title and was announced as the winner.

The KOPW Title will be defended throughout the year in stipulation matches picked by competitors and then voted on by the fans. The man who ends the year with the title will be the official KOPW Champion. Taichi ended 2023 at the KOPW Champion.
