The Grizzled Young Veterans made a surprise appearance at DPW LIVE 3.
At DPW LIVE 3 on October 15, the Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) made their first post-WWE appearance when they answered an open challenge from DPW Tag Team Champions The Workhorsemen (Anthony Henry and JD Drake). The former NXT stars then won the Proving Ground open challenge and earned a shot at the DPW Tag Team Championship.

Drake and Gibson left WWE and entered free agency when their contracts expired on October 14. They are former NXT UK Tag Team Champions, and they had been featured on NXT since they moved to the brand in February 2020. They joined forces with Joe Gacy to form Schism, and Ava later joined the group. Prior to their arrival in WWE, Drake and Gibson also held the PROGRESS Tag Team Championship three times.
