Gunther: I'm Open To Being Involved Somehow With NXT Europe, It Has A Lot Of Potential

Gunther says he's open to being involved with NXT Europe.

Previously, as WALTER, Gunther had a successful run as the NXT UK Champion. He was one of the faces of the brand before he moved overseas. Since then, he has been called up to SmackDown, where he is now the WWE Intercontinental Champion. Meanwhile, in August, WWE announced that NXT UK will be going on hiatus ahead of the launch of NXT Europe next year.

Speaking with Cultaholic Wrestling, Gunther was asked whether he's been approached about working with NXT Europe.

"I think it’s still so fresh that there aren’t really concrete plans or anything. But I’m definitely up to being involved somehow. I think it’d a great progression from NXT UK. I think there’s a lot of potential in NXT Europe so I hope we can do our part in that," he said.

Kaiser, Gunther's Imperium stablemate, was standing alongside the champion for the interview. When asked about his memories of NXT UK, he made it clear that he fondly looked back on this chapter of his career.

“I think it was a great time because obviously myself and back then Fabian Aichner, we started in NXT and then we had the chance to go over there, and that was also when we got back together with WALTER and Imperium happened and all that. So it was a very important stage of our career. Lots of great memories from that time. But now it’s time to move on, now it’s a different part of our career, now we make the very best out of that," Kaiser said.
