Gunther has been the WWE Intercontinental Champion for 400 days.
Gunther has gone on an incredible run with the WWE Intercontinental Championship since defeating Ricochet on June 10, 2022. From epic fights against Sheamus, Ricochet, and Drew McIntyre to crushing defeats over Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, and more, "The Ring General" continues to make his name synonymous with the working man's title.
He has already surpassed the record for the longest-running champion of the twenty-first century and the one-year mark. He is only fifty-five days away from breaking the record for the longest Intercontinental Title reign ever.
If Gunther can keep the championship until September 8, 2023, he will have officially surpassed The Honky Tonk Man's run as the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion from 1987 to 1988.
Earlier this year, Gunther made even more history and broke the record for the longest time spent in a men's Royal Rumble match.
