Gunther: Triple H Always Supported Me And Saw Something In Me

Gunther doesn't know if he would be where he is without Triple H.

Gunther moved to WWE SmackDown in 2022, and he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship that June. Triple H took over WWE creative after Vince McMahon retired on July 2022. Since then, Gunther has reached new heights, as he had a record-breaking reign with the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Gunther later won the World Heavyweight Championship by beating Damian Priest at WWE SummerSlam 2024.

Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Gunther discussed his run under Triple H and reflected on how the latter has always supported him.

"He always supported me and saw something in me. In general, I think he is somebody that is very disciplined when it comes to his long-term goals with certain people and sticking to them. I don’t know if I would be here without ever being more or less connected with Triple H in that sense. All I can do is I can do me. I can do that better than anybody else. In my case, it’s, 'Take it or leave it,'" Gunther said.
