Hikaru Shida says she will not be an afterthought.
On the August 14th episode of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mone defeated Hikaru Shida to retain the AEW TBS Championship.
In an interview on the August 23rd episode of AEW Rampage, Hikaru Shida was asked about coming up short in her match against Mercedes Mone.
“I came up short? Did you watch the match? I had Mercedes beat. I was one Katana away from being the TBS Champion before her watchdog got off her leash. But no one’s talking about that, are they? Of course not. Because we have the biggest show, Britt [Baker] versus Mercedes, Toni [Storm] versus Mariah [May]. I walked into Wembley last year as the world champion, and I will be a champion again. I will not be an afterthought. I am the ace of this division, and maybe I need to start showing everyone what that really means," Shida said.
Hikaru Shida is ready to show EVERYONE what it really means to be the ACE of the #AEW Women's Division!
