IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match Set For The Main Event Of Wrestle Kingdom 13

The clash of generations is set.

Kenny Omega has been reigning as IWGP Heavyweight Champion going on five months now. He almost went to distance in the G1 Climax 28 tournament and has been through wars in championship and non-title bouts since capturing the prestigious title. 'King Of Pro Wrestling' was another hurdle that Omega had to get over as he defended the title in a Three-Way against Kota Ibushi and the current IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion Cody.

While all three men had their sights set on becoming the top dog in NJPW there were moments during the match when Omega had the back of his fellow Golden Lover Kota Ibushi. In what was a highly competitive bout that went over thirty minutes, it was Kenny Omega hitting the "One Winged Angel" onto Kota Ibushi and pinning his tag team partner to retain the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

Once the match was all said and done, Kenny Omega did not think about getting the title belt and immediately went to check on Ibushi. Once Ibushi got to his feet, Omega told The Bucks, Cody and Ibushi that he loved them all as well as the rest of The Elite. Kenny was then joined in the ring by the man who will be challenging him for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 13, Hiroshi Tanahashi who let Omega know that it is on come January 4th.
