James Gunn To Cody Rhodes: Now It's Personal

Cody Rhodes might have made another enemy.

Rhodes recently sat down with WWE announcer Michael Cole to speak on a variety of subjects, including John Cena's Hollywood aspirations. Much like John Cena resented The Rock's time in Hollywood, Cody Rhodes is also decrying Cena's Hollywood goals in his latest interview. He also threw a little shade to the new head of DC Studios.

"The riches and glories of Hollywood are no longer just in Hollywood; the riches and glories are right here," Rhodes said. "John's business is no longer in WWE. It's being in Hollywood. It's kissing James Gunn's ass."

In saying that, Rhodes has triggered the ire of the writer/director of the John Cena-starring Peacemaker -James Gunn.

Gunn directed Cena in The Suicide Squad film, as well as two seasons of Max's Peacemaker. Gunn also wrote and directed all three Guardians of the Galaxy films, as well as movies like Slither, Dawn of the Dead, and more. His newest film, Superman, is coming out on July 11, 2025.

Rhodes and Cena battled at WrestleMania 41, with Cena vying for his 17th World Championship.
