Jay Lethal is added to the fray for the AAA Mega Title Match at Triplemania Regia.
Originally, Kenny Omega was scheduled to face El Hijo Del Vikingo at Triplemania Regia for the AAA Mega Championship. However, Kenny was forced to vacate the title due to injury.
Now, there will be a multi-man match including Vikingo and Samuray del Sol, the former Kalisto in WWE. Now, the next name has been announced for the match and it is the former Ring of Honor World Champion and current AEW Superstar, Jay Lethal.
Reacting to the news in a promo on social media, Lethal declared his intention to make history and add his name to the pantheon of AAA Mega Champions.
"My name is Jay Lethal. I am a six-time X-Division Champion. A two-time Ring of Honor World Champion, newly signed to AEW, and the next AAA Mega Champion. I have traveled the world for 19 years, 19 long years, perfecting professional wrestling. I have victories over guys like Kurt Angle and Ric Flair and now I have my sights set on the AAA Mega Championship. In fact, I've had my sights set on for a while because I've been watching ever since 2010, when Texano won it, I have waited. I have waited and waited and now it is finally here, my moment.
"Do I feel bad for Kenny Omega? Sure I do. But what's bad for him is great for me, because this opportunity gives me a chance. A chance to add my name to a list full of passion, to add my name to a list full of legends, tie my name to history, tie my name to a list of guys like Dr. Wagner Jr, El Mesias, Texano Jr, Fenix, and Kenny Omega, and now, me.
