John Bradshaw Layfield praises The Miz.
The Miz's being hazed by wrestling veterans, including JBL, has become integral to his growth off-screen in WWE and is the core of his character's presentation. Despite several individuals' predictions to the contrary, the Miz has been part of WWE for 20 years, has won every championship, and even headlined WrestleMania.
Speaking on the latest episode of Something to Wrestle, JBL, in response to a question about a wrestler that has surprised him with their success and career arc, praised The Miz for everything he was able to overcome and accomplish.
"Miz, no doubt about it. The Miz, when he came in, not because The Miz didn't have talent, he did. But how do you learn on global television? That's impossible. What Miz did is almost an impossibility. He had his first matches on global television. By the time I got to WWE, I probably had 1,000 matches. Most of the guys did, and Miz is having to learn on global television without that educational background of having to work a bunch of territories, and all the things that we got to do, and he has built a Hall of Fame career from that moment. I think that's incredibly remarkable that he's been able to do that because he didn't have that background like we had."
Elsewhere on the podcast, JBL commented on potentially returning to WWE commentary full-time. Read his remarks here.
One thing Miz is hoping to do in 2025 is get in the ring with John Cena one more time before Cena retires. Learn more here.
