JD McDonagh has been sidelined with an injury.
On the February 7 episode of WWE NXT, McDonagh faced Carmelo Hayes in a singles match. The former NXT North American Champion scored the win after Ilja Dragunov made his return and caused a distraction. Dragunov then attacked McDonagh, who escaped the ring and ran into the crowd.
In a tweet, McDonagh announced that he has a detached retina in his right eye. He stated that he estimates a 10-14 day recovery time, though he is waiting on a specific treatment plan. McDonagh also teased that he's coming for Dragunov as he told him to count down the days until he's cleared to compete.
.@WWENXT fans attending Live Events in Tampa/Citrus Springs this weekend - Unfortunately, after a sneak attack on Tuesday, I've got a detached retina in my right eye.
