Jeff Hardy says Matt Hardy can be "woken" forever.
Back in March, "Woken" Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt had a match at the Hardy Compound called "Ultimate Deletion." Matt Hardy's brother Jeff Hardy has also been involved with the bizarre "woken" or "broken" universe since the days at Impact Wrestling. In an interview with Inside the Ropes, Jeff Hardy discussed the development of his "woken" character Brother Nero.
"I didn't know what (Matt Hardy) was talking about at first, he just me wanted to do something big to him which was a big swanton bomb and he was going to change," said Jeff Hardy. "He was the first to say 'Brother Nero' and I was like 'okay, let me figure out what Brother Nero is,'" he continued.
Jeff Hardy said he went through different versions of Brother Nero before landing on the current version. He then said he hopes to see another Ultimate Deletion type match in WWE.
"Hopefully that's not over because I'm going to miss that dearly if it is. I honestly think that's one of those things that's immortal. Matt can do that as long as he wants to," said Jeff Hardy. "Before I'm done I want to be part of another deletion match in WWE and hopefully there's one more out there to do," he added.
Jeff Hardy was asked about his brother's future in the ring after Matt Hardy has sent out tweets about some serious injuries he has been suffering. Jeff Hardy said that he does not talk with his brother enough since switching brands and hopes to reconnect at SummerSlam.
At SummerSlam, Jeff Hardy will be facing Shinsuke Nakamura in an attempt to regain his WWE United States Championship. Fightful Wrestling will have live coverage and a recapping podcast for the event.
