We are in the YEET Era now that Jey Uso is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Jey Uso surprised Gunther by defeating him with a rear-naked choke, forcing the dominant champion to tap out rather quickly after the hold was applied at WWE WrestleMania 41. Now, Uso can enjoy the fruits of his labor as he is the first member of his immediate family to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
During the WrestleMania 41 Saturday Post-Show, Adam Bernard of ScreenRant asked Uso how it feels to be one of the faces of WWE, to which he replied, "Fire. Just me, Uce? YEET. Hell yeah, I love it. Fire. Internet, soak it in. This is it right here. Hell yeah. Two-time world shocker, Uce."
Nims of SEN Radio then asked if it's sunk in that he's World Champion yet. Candidly, Uso said that it hadn't and that he'd only ever planned on reaching tag team success, but the world had other plans.
"No, Uce. I just wanted to be a tag team wrestler with my twin brother. Once you start to progress and see different doors open, you want to take advantage of those opportunities. It’s been hard. Especially hard today because I feel like, our business, everyone is smart to it. We the last of a dying breed, that’s what I think. It’s damn near live theatrics, one shot, one take, live TV. I take pride in all that. All my brothers and sisters. Everyone who put on today. Behind the scenes, we’re all a big family. I’m so grateful I get to do this little part.
