At AEW Full Gear, Mercedes Mone defended the AEW TBS Championship against Kris Statlander. Mone emerged victorious, and the hard-fought match drew plenty of praise.
Speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross was asked whether Mercedes Mone's match at AEW Full Gear was her best performance in AEW up to this point.
"Without a doubt, best match that Mercedes Mone has had, in my opinion, since coming to AEW. I’ve been waiting on that match. I’ve been waiting on that match. I said this before, I tried to say it politely, and I know some people took it the wrong way because I’ve seen it online. All I was ever saying was, we haven’t seen the best of her yet. Meaning that there’s a significant upside to this young lady, who has a great look, great presence, and then all of sudden, on Saturday night, we saw the best of Mercedes Mone. It was very impressive," Ross said.
