The WWE champion and Universal champion will square off at Survivor Series.
Brock Lesnar officially accepted Jinder Mahal's challenge tonight on Raw, and will face him on November 19 in Houston. Neither title will be on the line.
Paul Heyman came out to accept the challenge. He portrayed Jinder Mahal as someone who was underneath Lesnar's stature, calling him a consolation prize for Smackdown's dismal performance in the Superstar Shakeup. He also accused the Singh Brothers of ripping off his act introducing Lesnar.
Mahal called out Brock Lesnar last week, saying that the only way to prove that he was a dominant champion was to challenge the beast himself. AJ Styles then came out, and after a quick brawl, sent Jinder Mahal reeling.
There hasn't been a Universal vs. WWE champion match. There have been plenty of World vs. WWE champion matches, however. That ended at WWE TLC 2013 when Randy Orton beat John Cena to unify the titles, ending the lineage of the World title.
Other matches set to be announced for Survivor Series include male and female Survivor Series elimination matches, United States champion Baron Corbin vs. Intercontinental champion The Miz, Raw women's champion Alexa Bliss vs. Smackdown women's champion Natalya and Raw tag team champions Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs. Smackdown tag team champions The Usos.
