Joe Hendry: People Know What My Dream Matches Are, I Have To Respect The Processes Of Both TNA And WWE

Joe Hendry says it might be time to respect the process.

TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has often publicly talked about how he wants to face John Cena. He has been a key part of the working relationship between WWE and TNA, even before they officially announced their partnership in January. Hendry competed in the Men's Royal Rumble at WWE Royal Rumble, and fans continue to buzz about potential crossover matches.

Speaking with Kevin Kellam for Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, WWE's partnership with TNA came up in the conversation, and Hendry was asked to name who he wanted to face.

“Here’s the thing. People know what my dream matches are. They know. There comes a point where we’re having fun, we’re throwing it out there, but at the same time, I also need to respect the processes and the decisions of both TNA Wrestling and WWE. So I think I’ve had a lot of fun with it, I’ve put those things out there, and that’s for the fans to have fun with, and now, if the fans call for it, that’s awesome, I’m very grateful for that. But now, I feel like I’m almost in this position where I kind of have to respectfully step back and allow the process to unfold, to respect the creative processes of both companies. So I think that’s the phase that I’m in right now. Here’s the thing, at any point, TNA or WWE could have said, ‘No, we don’t want this [Royal] Rumble thing to happen,’ or whatever, and both companies have been great with that. So with that in mind, I need to show respect for both of their creative processes as well, and again, I just need to take the approach that whatever’s put in front of me, I will do my absolute best with. It’s my goal to make myself the type of champion that I create compelling matchups for other people in other companies, for everyone in our locker room. I want this to be an exciting championship title run. So that’s why I’m kind of saying I’ll take on anyone from any company. I’m just very excited for what’s next and to try and elevate TNA Wrestling as much as I possibly can," Hendry said.
