El Desperado gets an answer from Jun Kasai regarding July 4 and receives an ominous challenge from Jon Moxley concerning July 5.
It was previously revealed that El Desperado wanted to team with Jun Kasai against Jon Moxley and Homicide on July 4 at NJPW STRONG Independence Day. However, Despe would not get his answer until the June 17 New Japan Road event when "The Crazy Monkey" appeared in New Japan to accept his invitation personally.
Making his first appearance in NJPW, Kasai stated that he wasn't aiming to get involved with NJPW but to rewrite NJPW history, setting the stage for an anything-goes-style contest. Official stipulations for the match on July 4 have yet to be determined, but all parties involved seem ready for complete madness.
Before Kasai officially accepted Desperado's offer for July 4, Jon Moxley appeared on the video wall. He said if anyone survives the match on July 4, he would like to face Desperado in a singles match on July 5. According to Moxley, this subsequent singles match will not feature a winner or a loser, merely a survivor. Moxley referred to this match as "Final Death."
Despite not knowing what the official rules would mean, Desperado quickly accepted this challenge.
