Jon Moxley Knew He Had To Do Bloodsport When Attending The 2019 Event

Jon Moxley is all about the blood and sport in wrestling.

Moxlet is set to compete at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport on October 11, pending nothing major happens like the previous two times. Moxley was set to face Barnett at Bloodsport in September 2019, but the bout fell through due to Moxley coming down with a case of staph. The match was rescheduled for WrestleMania 36 weekend, but again fell through due to the pandemic.

Appearing on Fight Game podcast, Moxley recalled when he knew he needed to compete at Bloodsport.

"In Jersey, that was the first Indie show I had been to or paid attention to in years. I hadn't been to an Indie show or been in that environment in years. I was laying low, I went with William Regal and Robert Anthony, we're watching it and he's filling me in on who some people are. I was just like, 'I fucking love this so much. I love these fans, this presentation, this style.' Everybody was there to fight, it's aggressive, violent, testosterone. It was wrestling. There was no bullshit, nobody talking on the mic. I was like, 'this is where I fucking belong, I miss this so much.' We're watching Killer Kross vs. Davey Boy Smith, which was a great match, Davey Boy Smith slaps him in face and it's like a gunshot went off. It was so physical. We knew I was gonna be a free agent soon. Robert Anthony says to me, 'Would you do this show?' I said, 'I have to do this show,'" he said.

The third time will hopefully be the charm for Moxley as he travels to Indiana for Bloodsport in October.

It had already been announced that Moxley would be leaving WWE once his contract expired when he was in the audience for Bloodsport during WrestleMania 35 weekend.
