Smith previously won the title by defeating Yuma Aoyagi at the AJPW Giant Series 2024 event on November 4. In doing so, he became the seventh foreigner to win the gold. Smith Jr. took to Twitter/X and commented on his loss. He thanked the fans and stated that he would be back.
It was a nice reference to Dory Funk Jr on commentary here. Who I have been studying quite a bit lately.
