  • Joe Hendry cut a promo to kick off the show, where he vowed to make TNA Genesis the start of the Joe Hendry Era by winning the TNA World Title from Nic Nemeth. Nic's brother, Ryan Nemeth, interrupted Hendry and said all Hendry did was whine, moan, and tarnish his brother's reputation before saying Hendry was not a hero or a main event, but a mid-carder and a snake. Hendry then made fun of Nemeth's comedy special and said that if he was a mid-carded, Nemeth was a Janitor. This led to Rhino vs. Nemeth immediately.
  • Ryan Nemeth def. Rhino via Disqualification.
    • Rhino attacked Nemeth with a chair, causing the referee to throw the match out.
  • Gia Miller interviewed Jordynne Grace, who lambasted Tessa Blanchard for trying to take all the credit for the TNA Knockouts's hard work and said that if Blanchard wanted to come back, she would give her the welcome she deserved.
  • The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) met with the TNA Tag Champions The Hardys (Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy), who offered a tag match for The Rascalz at TNA Genesis.
  • Ace Austin def. KUSHIDA via Pinfall (The Fold).
    • Austin cut a promo after the match, where he is thankful for their continuous support for Chris Bey. Austin then mentioned that Bey told him it was time for Austin to win the World Title. TNA X-Division Champion Moose interrupted saying he took offense with Austin not mentioning his name regarding the "top title" and said it was time to teach a lesson about TNA. Moose declared the X-Division Title was the identity of TNA before saying Austin was scared of him. Moose was about to say Chris Bey's name, but Austin stopped him and said he would become a 4-time X-Division Champion now if need be. The TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella interrupted and said tonight was not the time for fighting before making Moose defending the X-Division Title against Ace Austin official for TNA Genesis.
  • Eric Young, Steve Maclin & Jonathan Gresham spoke backstage regarding their frustrations over the past weeks before The System (JDC, Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers) appeared discussing how they would get their tag titles back. Maclin, Young & Gresham then shrugged before engaging in a brawl with The System.
  • The Nemeth Brothers (Ryan Nemeth & TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth) argued with Rhino before Santino Marella booked a tag match between them. Joe Hendry then appeared and offered his services to Rhino, which Marella made official.
  • Mike Santana came to the ring for a promo, where he said he would work on becoming the Standard of TNA, but that lead to The Northern Armory (Josh Alexander, Judas Icarus & Travis Williams). Alexander took offense to Santana's comments and said that as long as he was in TNA, Santana would not be "the guy". Santana then asked if Alexander was "the guy" because he was sucking up to the man with the pencil before making fun of Alexander's head-turning red while also being bald. Santana then challenged The Northern Armory to a match next week and vowed to stomp their asses.
  • Jordynne Grace was sitting down near the parking lot waiting for Tessa Blanchard, but Masha Slamovich & SPITFIRE (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) told her that their match was next. Santino Marella then appeared and said a security guard would handle it from here.
  • Frankie Kazarian spoke with Leon Slater, who offered mentorship to hi. Slater said he would be down for it. Kazarian then offered for Slater to carry the "Call Your Shot" Trophy, but Slater said he was not here to be a young boy. Kazarian then told Slater to never forget who paved the road fo them, to which Slater responded by saying he would and was not afraid to go past people like him. JDC then appeared and spoke with Kazarian about how good Slater was, but both believed he might be missing intangibles.
  • TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth appeared on the ramp ahead of his match against Joe Hendry at TNA Genesis, where he said he would do anything to win and steal the show; before that, however, he was looking forward to his tag match with Ryan Nemeth against Joe Hendry & Rhino. Ryan Nemeth then appeared and started expressing his frustrations with Nic paying respect to Hendry. Nic then told Ryan to calm down because he was the reason the tag match was happening before storming from the ramp.
  • Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich & SPITFIRE (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) def. Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, Rosemary & Tasha Steelz via Pinfall (Requiem from Slamovich on Steelz).
    • Tessa Blanchard attacked Jordynne Grace after the match. Ash By Elegance, Heather by Elegance & Rosemary brawled with Slamovich & SPITFIRE, Blanchard carried Grace to the backstage area and tossed Grace to the parking lot before saying she was here to reclaim her locker room.
