On February 4, 2020, Kross' signing with WWE was confirmed during an episode of WWE Backstage. At TakeOver XXX that August, he defeated Keith Lee to win the NXT Championship, but a separated shoulder forced him to relinquish the title just a few days later.

After returning to action in December, Kross would set out to reclaim the belt he never lost, and at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver in April 2021, he did just that, defeating Finn Balor to become a two-time NXT Champion.

Kross made his main roster debut on July 19, a full month before he would drop the title to Samoa Joe. He would lose his debut match to Jeff Hardy before winning five of his next six televised matches. He last competed on October 10 at a Live Supershow against John Morrison.

Kross was among multiple releases made by WWE on Thursday. You can view the full list by clicking here.
