The inaugural champion has been crowned.
At NXT Battleground, Sol Ruca, Lash Legend, Michin, Jaida Parker, Fallon Henley, and Kelani Jordan clashed in a Ladder Match that crowned the inaugural NXT Women's North American Champion.
The match quickly broke down into a brawl, and ladders came into play early on. Ruca dove onto Legend at ringside. Ruca then dumped Parker on her head with a German suplex. Henley went to retrieve the title, but Ruca stopped here. Parker took Jordan out with a dive off a ladder. Legend stopped Michin from climbing and took the fight to her. Several competitors locked in sleeper holds on each other, which left Ruca with an opportunity to climb.
Jordan climbed up to the top of a ladder, but Parker stopped her. Legend and Parker stretcher Jordan over the ladder, but Jordan dropped Legend, and they went crashing to the floor. Henley had a chance to climb up, but Parker met her at the top. The competitors battled at the top of two ladders before Legend climbed up as well. Legend and Ruca clashed at the top, and the other participants dumped Legend onto a ladder at ringside.

The fight picked up speed as the competitors battled for the advantage. Michin was sent tumbling off a ladder and into the ropes. Ruca fired up with two Sol Snatchers, but Jordan met her at the top of the ladder. They knocked each other down, and the match was a stalemate. Jordan then was left alone by herself, and she unhooked the title to win the match.

The competitors in the Ladder Match previously won qualifying bouts after participating in a women's combine to earn their spots in the contest.
